more than music
We specialize in using music and dance to reach non-musical goals for those with neurologic impairment, illness, or injury.
Music Plus strives to provide the most accessible, efficacious, and innovative music and movement services to create the best environment for the attainment of holistic, meaningful, personalized goals.
To be sure our clients get the most appropriate, beneficial, and enjoyable care, we offer:
Dance Therapy/Somatic Counseling
Dance/Movement Therapy is a fun and interactive process of self-expression and discovery commonly used to treat psychological, cognitive, social, and physical challenges such as: anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, body image distortion, PTSD, communication issues, childhood obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, life changes, personal growth, and overall wellness.
As expressive movement transcends many social and cultural boundaries, Dance/Movement Therapy serves diverse individuals with a range of physical and mental abilities. Its benefits are available to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Music Therapy/NMT is the clinical use of music to accomplish non-musical goals preformed by a board certified, music therapy professional.
Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) is the therapeutic application of music to cognitive, sensory, and motor dysfunctions which result from neurologic illness, impairment, or injury.
The results and goals of music therapy create meaningful, lasting change in daily movement, cognition, behavior, speech, and socio-emotional functions.
NMT is currently endorsed by the World Foundation for Neurorehabilitation.

We Are Music Plus!
Holistic, Individualized, and Evidence-Based
When we were babies, we babbled along with nursery rhymes and learned speech. When we were toddlers, music helped us understand our world and learn our language. When we were school-age, we sang our ABC's and learned to read.
And on we went: utilizing music to continuously propel ourselves forward in self-actualization. Music helped us process our teenage break-ups and created a safe space from which to move forward. Music brought us together during both times of celebration and times of loss. Finger tips on keys, bows in hands and breath on microphones made sure we knew we were never alone.
Through extensive research on music perception in the brain, we know the "how" and "why" of neuroplasticity and mirror neurons which lead to meaningful changes in brain structure and chemistry. At Music Plus, we're focusing on the "what" or the result. Of course there will be music and movement, but what else? What physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, behavioral result will you finally gain through music?
That's what we're going to find; the Music Plus.
